Shorts: Beyond Denim

Don't get me wrong, I love denim cutoffs as well as the next person, but when it comes to a summer "mainstay," I prefer a nice printed cotton, lightweight linen, or a belted loose-fit, among others. When it's hot, the last thing that I want is something that constricts! I do own denim shorts which I wear on occasion, but my preference is always a loose fitting type such as a destructed boyfriend. I also find a tailored or city short a nice alternative for a night out. Just add heels and jewels.
